My Jobs
The technician My Jobs mobile experience described on this page — a per-technician assigned-job list, swipe-to-advance status, and the En Route / Arrived field-status flow — is on the roadmap and not yet available. This page previews where field operations are headed.
What works today: jobs are tracked as projects that move through stages on the project board. The live job stages are Scheduled → In Progress → Completed, alongside Won and On Hold. There is no technician job-assignment or field status-advancing yet. See Getting Started for how projects move through their stages.
My Jobs is the technician's home screen — a simple, mobile-first list of every job assigned to you today and in the coming days. Everything is designed to work well with one hand on a phone, even when you are standing on a job site.
My Jobs is optimized for technicians working in the field. If you are a dispatcher or office admin, the Dispatch Board gives you the full scheduling view.
Your Assigned Work
When you log in on your phone or tablet, ContractorScope AI opens directly to My Jobs. You will see a chronological list of your assigned jobs, starting with the earliest scheduled job today.
Each job card in the list shows:
- Customer name and job address
- Scheduled start time and estimated duration
- Job type (e.g., Inspection, Repair, Installation)
- Current status shown as a colored badge
- Any dispatcher notes added when the job was assigned
Jobs from the current day appear at the top. Future jobs are grouped by date below. Completed jobs roll off the list after 24 hours but remain accessible in job history.
Viewing a Different Day
Tap the date header at the top of the list to open a calendar picker. Select any date to jump to that day's jobs. Tap Today to return to the current day.
Job Details
Tap any job card to open the full job detail screen. Here you will find everything you need to do the job:
Customer and Site Information
- Customer name, phone number, and email — tap the phone number to call directly.
- Job site address — tap to open the address in Google Maps (see Navigate to Job Site below).
- Customer notes — any special instructions about the property, gate codes, pets, or access requirements.
Job Scope and Notes
- Description — what work needs to be done, as entered by the dispatcher or office.
- Linked estimate — if an estimate was created for this job, a link opens it so you can review the agreed scope and materials before starting.
- Dispatcher notes — internal notes added when the job was scheduled. These are not visible to the customer.
Attached Files
Any photos, documents, or files attached to the job appear here. Tap a photo to view it full screen. Tap a document to open it. See Notes & Files for how to add files to a job.
Updating Job Status
Keeping your job status current takes seconds and lets the dispatcher and office team see your progress in real time without calling you.
Status Flow
Jobs move through the following statuses in order:
Scheduled → En Route → Arrived → In Progress → Completed
Each status change is timestamped automatically. The dispatcher can see every transition on the Dispatch Board.
Swipe to Advance Status
The fastest way to update your status is to swipe right on a job card from the My Jobs list:
- Swipe right once — Advances the job to the next status.
- A confirmation prompt appears for the Completed status to prevent accidental closes.
This works whether you are viewing today's list or inside the job detail screen.
Before you leave for a job, swipe right to set it to En Route. When you pull into the driveway, swipe again to Arrived. This keeps the dispatcher informed without any phone calls.
Tap the Status Button
If you prefer tapping to swiping, open the job detail screen and tap the large status button at the top of the screen. It always shows the next logical status. Tap Mark as En Route, Mark as Arrived, and so on as you progress through the job.
Status Descriptions
| Status | When to set it |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Default when the dispatcher assigns the job. No action needed from you. |
| En Route | You have left for the job and are on your way. |
| Arrived | You are on-site and about to start. |
| In Progress | Active work has begun. |
| Completed | All work is done, site is cleaned up, and you are ready to move on. |
If a job needs to be rescheduled or has an issue, tap the Flag button on the job detail screen instead of advancing the status. This alerts the dispatcher to call you.
Navigate to Job Site
On the job detail screen, tap the Get Directions button below the job address. ContractorScope AI passes the address directly to Google Maps on your phone.
- On Android, Google Maps opens automatically.
- On iPhone, you are prompted to choose between Google Maps and Apple Maps if both are installed.
The address is pre-formatted for navigation — no need to copy and paste.
Adding Notes from the Field
While you are on a job, you can add notes directly to the job record so the office has a record of what was done.
- Open the job detail screen.
- Tap Add Note.
- Type your note, or tap the microphone icon to dictate a voice memo (see Notes & Files for full details on voice memos).
- Tap Save. The note is immediately visible to the dispatcher and office team.
Use job notes for things like:
- Materials used that differ from the estimate.
- Access issues or conditions found on site.
- Work that needs a follow-up visit.
- Anything the customer told you that the office should know.
Attaching Photos
Tap Add Photo on the job detail screen to take a photo with your phone camera or select one from your photo library. Photos attach directly to the job and are visible to everyone with access to that job.
Good things to photograph:
- Before and after shots — Shows the customer and the office the condition of the work.
- Problem areas — Documents issues found that were not in the original scope.
- Completed work — Proof of work for billing disputes.
See Notes & Files for file size limits and supported formats.
Offline Access
My Jobs works even when your cell signal is weak or gone. Jobs that were loaded while you had connectivity are available to view offline, including job details, notes, and attached files that had already been downloaded.
Status updates and new notes you create offline are queued and sync automatically when you are back online. See Offline Mode for full details on what works offline and what requires a connection.
Before heading to a job site in a remote area, open the job detail screen while you still have a signal. This pre-loads the job data so it is available offline when you arrive.
Next Steps
Now that you know My Jobs, here are some useful next steps:
- Dispatch Board — The dispatcher's view of all jobs and technicians.
- Notes & Files — Creating notes, voice memos, and attaching files.
- Offline Mode — Working without an internet connection at the job site.
