Getting Help

Whether you have a question about a feature, run into an issue, or just want to learn how to get more out of ContractorScope AI, we are here to help. This page covers all the ways you can get support, answers to common questions, and tips for resolving issues on your own.

Contacting Support

In-App Support Tickets

The recommended way to reach our team is through the built-in support ticket system — right inside ContractorScope AI:

  1. Click the Support launcher in the bottom-right corner of any page (or navigate to Support / Tickets from the main menu).
  2. Click New Ticket, give your issue a subject, describe the problem, and set an urgency level (Low, Normal, or High).
  3. Submit the ticket. You receive an immediate first reply from Otis, our IT and Security support assistant, right inside the ticket thread. At the same time, you will receive a confirmation email with your ticket reference number, subject, and urgency level — so you have a record in your inbox even if you close the app.
  4. A human support team member reviews the ticket and follows up in the same thread — typically within one business day, and within a few hours for Professional and Business plan holders (Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM Eastern).
  5. You can add follow-up comments, attach files, and reopen a resolved ticket if the issue recurs. When the team marks your ticket resolved, you will receive a resolution email with the resolution details. If the fix did not fully address your issue, click Re-open Ticket on the ticket page in the app, or reply to the resolution email — either action reopens the ticket and notifies the support team.
info

When you submit a ticket, you receive an immediate first reply grounded in the ContractorScope AI help documentation. This AI-generated response often resolves the issue right away. A member of our support team then follows up personally.

Email Support

You can also reach us directly by email:

info@contractorscopeai.com

When you email us, include the following details so we can help you as quickly as possible:

  • Your name and company name — So we can find your account.
  • A description of the issue — What happened, what you expected to happen, and what you see instead.
  • Screenshots — If something looks wrong on screen, a screenshot saves a lot of back-and-forth. On most computers, press the Print Screen key or use the Snipping Tool. On a Mac, press Command + Shift + 4.
  • The estimate or client involved — If the issue relates to a specific estimate, include the estimate number (for example, EST-2026-0042).
  • Your browser and device — Let us know if you are on Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox, and whether you are on a computer, tablet, or phone.

Reporting an Error from the App

When something goes wrong — an unexpected error message, a page that will not load, an action that fails — you may see a Report this error button alongside the error notice.

  1. Click Report this error.
  2. The app captures a scrubbed diagnostic snapshot of what happened: the page you were on, the action that failed, and technical details that help our team reproduce the problem. No personal information, client data, or job details are included.
  3. A preview shows you exactly what will be sent so you can review it before submitting.
  4. Optionally add a short note describing what you were doing.
  5. Click Send Report.

You receive a reference number. When you follow up with our support team, include that reference number so we can pull the diagnostic immediately and skip the back-and-forth.

tip

Using "Report this error" is the fastest way to get a technical issue resolved. The diagnostic gives our team the context they need without requiring you to describe technical details.

Phone Support

Phone support is available for Business plan subscribers:

  1. Go to Settings > Support.
  2. Your dedicated support phone number is displayed.
  3. Call during business hours for direct assistance.

AI Voice Assistant

ContractorScope AI includes a built-in voice assistant that lets you create estimates, look up information, and navigate the platform hands-free — perfect for job sites and driving. For full setup instructions, available commands, and tips for getting the best results, see the dedicated Voice Assistant guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Account and Sign-In

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot Password.
  2. Enter the email address associated with your account.
  3. Check your email for a password reset link.
  4. Click the link and create a new password. It must be at least 8 characters.
  5. Sign in with your new password.

If the new password is rejected, the page tells you the actual reason rather than a generic error — usually that the password is too short, or that the reset link is no longer valid. If the link is no longer valid, request a fresh one from Forgot Password and use the newest email.

If you do not receive the reset email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. If it is still not there, contact support at info@contractorscopeai.com.

I changed my email and now I cannot sign in.

If you changed your email but did not verify the new address, your old email may still be your sign-in credential. Try signing in with your old email. If that does not work, contact support and we will help you recover your account.

I clicked my sign-in link but nothing happened.

Opening the emailed sign-in link takes you to a Finish signing in page — it does not sign you in automatically. Click the Sign in button on that page to complete the process. This extra click is deliberate: some corporate email systems automatically open every link in an incoming email to scan it for safety, and without this step that automatic scan would use up your one-time link before you ever clicked it, leaving you stuck on an "invalid or expired link" error.

If you land on an error page instead of the confirmation button, the link has already been used or has expired. Enter your email address in the box on that same page and click Send new link — a fresh sign-in link is sent right there, no need to leave the page. If you would rather start over, you can also go back to the sign-in page and request a new link from there.

Can I have multiple companies under one account?

Yes. If you manage more than one contracting business, you can add additional companies under your account. Go to Settings > Companies > Add Company. Each company has its own clients, estimates, integrations, and branding. You switch between companies using the company selector in the top-left corner.

Estimates

Can I duplicate an estimate?

Yes. Open the estimate you want to copy, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select Duplicate. A new draft estimate is created with all the same line items, pricing, and notes. Update the client, project name, and any details that differ, then save.

Can I edit an estimate after sending it?

Yes. Open the estimate, make your changes, and click Save. The estimate is now marked as "Revised" and the client is notified that an updated version is available. The original version is preserved in the estimate history.

How long are estimates valid?

By default, estimates are valid for the number of days you set in Settings > Markups & pricing > Estimate Validity. You can override this on any individual estimate. After the validity period, the estimate status changes to "Expired." You can reactivate an expired estimate by editing it and extending the validity date.

What happens when a client accepts an estimate?

You receive an in-app notification and an email. The estimate status changes to "Accepted." If you have QuickBooks connected, you can create an invoice directly from the accepted estimate with one click.

Integrations

Do I need QuickBooks or RingCentral to use ContractorScope AI?

No. Integrations are optional. ContractorScope AI works perfectly well as a standalone estimating tool. QuickBooks and RingCentral add extra convenience if you already use those services.

Can I connect both QuickBooks and RingCentral at the same time?

Yes. The integrations are independent of each other. You can connect one, both, or neither.

I disconnected an integration by accident. Is my data lost?

No. Disconnecting an integration does not delete any data. Your existing synced records, call logs, and invoices remain in ContractorScope AI. Reconnect the integration and syncing resumes.

Billing

When am I charged?

You are charged on the same date each month. Your renewal date is shown in Settings > Billing & subscription.

Can I get a refund?

Every plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, no conditions. If ContractorScope AI isn't right for you within your first 30 days, cancel from Settings > Billing or contact support at info@contractorscopeai.com for a full refund. After 30 days, cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

Do you offer annual billing?

Not today. All plans and add-ons bill monthly.

How do I switch plans?

Plan changes are not self-serve — there is no Change Plan button in the app. Email info@contractorscopeai.com with the plan you want and we will move your subscription for you. No data is lost by switching: every plan carries the same core workflow, and plans differ in monthly AI estimate volume, seats, storage, contact capacity, QuickBooks integration (Starter and up), and support level. Your allowance counts each AI-assisted analysis or refinement step, not just completed estimates — see Getting Started for details.

Troubleshooting

The Page Is Not Loading

If ContractorScope AI is not loading or pages are blank:

  1. Check your internet connection. Open another website to confirm you are online.
  2. Try a different browser. If you are using Safari, try Chrome. If you are using Chrome, try Edge or Firefox.
  3. Clear your browser cache. Old cached files can sometimes cause display issues. See the instructions below for clearing cache in common browsers.
  4. Disable browser extensions. Ad blockers and privacy extensions can occasionally interfere with web applications. Try disabling them temporarily.
  5. Check our status page. Visit contractorscopeai.com to see if there is a known outage or maintenance window.

Clearing Your Browser Cache

Cached files help pages load faster, but outdated cached files can sometimes cause problems. Here is how to clear your cache in the most common browsers:

Google Chrome:

  1. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data.
  3. Select Cached images and files.
  4. Set the time range to Last 7 days.
  5. Click Clear Data.

Microsoft Edge:

  1. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy, Search, and Services > Clear Browsing Data.
  3. Click Choose What to Clear.
  4. Select Cached images and files.
  5. Click Clear Now.

Safari (Mac):

  1. Click Safari in the menu bar.
  2. Select Settings (or Preferences).
  3. Go to the Advanced tab and enable "Show Develop menu in menu bar."
  4. Click Develop in the menu bar and select Empty Caches.

Firefox:

  1. Click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll to Cookies and Site Data and click Clear Data.
  4. Select Cached Web Content and click Clear.
tip

After clearing your cache, refresh the ContractorScope AI page. You may need to sign in again since clearing cache can remove your session data.

Estimate PDF Looks Wrong

If the PDF export does not look right (cut-off text, missing logo, formatting issues):

  1. Regenerate the PDF. Sometimes a one-time glitch affects generation. Click Export > Download PDF again.
  2. Check your logo file. Logos should be PNG or JPG format, at least 300 pixels wide. Very small or very large image files can cause layout issues.
  3. Check for very long line item descriptions. Descriptions over 200 characters may wrap in unexpected ways. Try shortening them.
  4. Try a different PDF viewer. Some older PDF readers do not render modern PDFs well. Adobe Acrobat Reader or your browser's built-in PDF viewer are the most reliable options.

Notifications Are Not Coming Through

If you are not receiving email or in-app notifications:

  1. Check your notification settings. Go to Settings > Notifications and make sure the relevant notifications are turned on.
  2. Check your spam folder. Email notifications from ContractorScope AI sometimes end up in spam, especially on first delivery. Mark the email as "Not Spam" to prevent this in the future.
  3. Add our email to your contacts. Adding info@contractorscopeai.com to your email contacts or address book helps ensure delivery.
  4. Check your browser notification permissions. For in-app notifications, your browser must allow notifications from contractorscopeai.com. Look for a bell icon or lock icon in your browser's address bar to manage permissions.

Slow Performance

If ContractorScope AI feels slow:

  1. Check your internet speed. The platform works best with a connection of at least 5 Mbps. You can test your speed at speedtest.net.
  2. Close unnecessary browser tabs. Too many open tabs can slow down any web application.
  3. Try a different browser. Chrome and Edge generally offer the best performance.
  4. Clear your cache (see instructions above). Old cached files can slow things down.
  5. Restart your browser. Close it completely and reopen it.

If the issue persists, let us know at info@contractorscopeai.com with details about what feels slow (loading pages, generating PDFs, running AI analysis, etc.) so we can investigate.
