Telegram Notifications

ContractorScope AI can send your notifications straight to Telegram, so you get alerts on your phone without checking the app. Connecting takes about a minute and you only do it once per device.

Before You Start​

You'll need the Telegram app installed on your phone (it's free, on the App Store and Google Play) and a Telegram account.

Connecting Telegram​

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications.
  2. Open Mobile channels.
  3. Under Telegram, click Connect Telegram. This also turns Telegram on if it was off.
  4. ContractorScope AI generates a one-time connect link that opens our bot, @ContractorScopeAIBot, and shows it as Open Telegram and connect. Click (or tap) it. Telegram opens to a chat with the bot.
  5. Press the Start button at the bottom of the chat.

That's it. Once you press Start, the bot links your Telegram chat to your ContractorScope AI account. The settings page notices this on its own, within a few seconds, and fills in your chat ID. You can also paste a Chat ID by hand in the same box.

How the link works

The connect link is a personal, time-limited deep link of the form https://t.me/ContractorScopeAIBot?start=<token>. The token in the link is what tells the bot which account to connect, so don't share it. If the link expires before you use it, or you don't press Start within about two minutes, click Try again in Settings → Notifications → Mobile channels to generate a fresh one.

What You'll Receive​

Once connected, the notifications you've enabled are delivered to Telegram in addition to wherever else you've chosen to receive them. You stay in control of which alerts go out from Settings → Notifications — connecting Telegram only adds it as a delivery channel; it doesn't change which events notify you.

Disconnecting​

To stop receiving notifications on Telegram, turn off Telegram under Settings → Notifications → Mobile channels. Turning it off does not clear your Chat ID: the ID stays saved, so turning Telegram back on sends notifications to the same chat again, with nothing to reconnect. The Connect Telegram button only appears while the Chat ID is empty. To link a different Telegram account, clear the Chat ID (or replace it with the new one), then connect again.

Troubleshooting​

The connect link doesn't open TelegramMake sure the Telegram app is installed. On desktop, the link opens Telegram Web or the desktop app.
I pressed Start but the Chat ID box is still emptyGive it a few seconds. If it still doesn't fill in, refresh Settings → Notifications, then click Connect Telegram again to get a fresh link and press Start again.
The link says it's expiredConnect links are time-limited. Click Connect Telegram (or Try again) in Mobile channels to generate a new one.
I'm not getting notifications after connectingCheck that the specific notification types are enabled in Settings → Notifications. Connecting Telegram adds the channel but doesn't turn on any alerts that were off.
